Ginger bread baking

PS.

This year I have made my first christmas curtains, with a fabric I got 90% off in january.

Changing the language?

31g Kitten Mohair
Pinner 5,5 og 7 (US 9 and 11)
Tid: 2,5 timer (2,5 hours)

A not so baggy hat, and the pattern doesn't show as much as I hoped for.

Sizw 12/18months
Yarn: 3 skeins fabel 159, 1 skein undyed alpaca, 1 skein red alpaca= 164g in total
Time: 8 days

I finally was finished with this christmasdress, but I struggeled so much in the end that I will try knitting this, and if I struggle as much with that one I will stop using Drops' patterns.

A small step for the enviroment

Just by making a fabric shoppingbag! I've used this pattern and some old fabric I found somewhere. I didn't use the same measure as the pattern, but I just used what I had.

I love the colour!

Yes, I'm still knitting. So I'm not blogging as much as I should. I just hope you like quality and not quantity:D

Not so much a blogger

I haven't been blogging as much as I wanted lately, maybe it's because I haven't really been proud of what I've done. Maybe the lack of energy has had something to do with it, but I will try to do something about it.

I've been knitting Li'l Devil Baby Hat just without the horns and earflaps. K likes it, but she also like pulling it off her head.
I've used 35g of Smart and it took me three hours to knit I think.

For a friend of mine's baby I knitted the "Blåfjell"hals and hat, when I was finished I found out that I wanted to knit another hat, so I have knitted TWO hats! I love them. Wanna make one for myself, but in the Bodø/Glimt colors. I can't believe we reached the 4.place in the series! No it's just for me to hope that Vålerenga looses the final! PLEASE!

Anyway, nuff football.
I've used 61g on the hals and 131g on each of the hats.
They are feltet in the washingmachine. The neckwarmer was feltet enough at 40 degrees celsius, and the hat was feltet at 40, 60 and another 60 degrees celsius.
Very fast knitting, using to strands of yarn and thick needles.

I also knittet a soaker for another friend of mine, but I totally forgot taking a picture of it before I gave it away. It was 93g of Lanolinyarn from Bjørnedalen (or whatever it's called).

Now I'm knitting on a singlet for me, in wool/silk-blend, I'm using the pattern from Nøstebarnboka, I have to treat myself with something nice.

Wollybottompants

Two knitted longies:) I've used a modified pattern from "Strikk til nøstebarn" and modified it myself haha. Twice modifying that is.
I used 198g of New Zealand lambswool from www.123knit.com.

Very fast knitting, and I loved it! I just love the petrol colour!
And for the fun part: I learned how to make twisted cords! So now I can twist cords for every knitted items I make. No more "devilhats" without cords, goodbye cordless longies. So long suckers! I'm reborned!

Last sunday I got a sackful of yarn! It's so much that I haven't got control over it yet! Seriously! I have a stack of yarn now. I'm not the lightest in my yarnfamily! I have loads of yarn! I can't wait:D
But I haven't got pictures of it yet, because I have to regain control of it and have to sort something out!

Just wanted to show you the wollybottompants that I made.

Midsummer in fall

I can't believe it! I have forced my way through this shawl, and I'm so proud to be finished!
Although the pictures are crap you can see the pattern and the colouring, it's so wonderful. Sort of like a rasperry-coloured shawl! I love it!

The pattern is called Midsummer
I've used 81 grams of Evilla 8/1 and it's VERY thin!
I started this shawl the 14th of september, so I've used a month on it. Although, I have not been knitting on it every day.

But I realized that I need to buy blocking-wires, because I had to block it on the wall, which has left a zillion of small holes in the wall. Haha. It was too big for the matress, the table etc. If anyone has a tip on how to block it nicely, please leave a comment here.

We are so fashionable in my family!

Because we have to have matching yoghurt-moustache to the outfit, and if we drink cocoa the moustache must look like the one Jono El Grande has.

I won't talk about christmas yet!

Well, yes. Another "Turn A square" hat. I had enough yarn to make another one, and a nag I know wanted one for christmas. She also want me to crochet a flower to sew on the hat, but then I have to learn how to crochet. I don't know if she's worth it;)
Facts is written down in this blogpost.

I realized that I haven't shown actionpictures of the kindergarden suit I made for Kristiane. Well, here it is. Kristiane is not so cooperative.
"Mum, I don't want to be taken pictures of! I wanna go to the kindergarden NOW! Stupid mum! I hate the blitz"
She can't talk, but I think her eyes speaks alot.
I also think that it was a good thing, to show-an-UFO, because I have been sewing holes in my indexfinger. It hurts! But look at it now, not so much left:) YAY! I hope that in a week or two, it's done. At least before we celebrate the anniversery of Kristiane's Christianing. haha
Although I dislikes christmascandy in October, I have to eat these! They are like cocaine! Seriously! I bought one today, and they melt in my mouth. Okay, I really like the taste of rum, rum and chocolate makes me go to heaven. Oh, please!
Yes, and I have a job now! At Pannekakehuset (the pancakehouse) in Bodø.

Hats hats hats

Hat made for Oslo Krisesenter!Pattern: Turn A square
Yarn: Cascade 220 and Noro Aurora
Yarn amount: 48g
Time elapsed: 2 nights

Very easy to knit, but too big for me. I don't have that much brain in me. Haha.

I have too much that I want to make, but so little time. This is an all-time-project for me, a christening-stitching for Kristiane, maybe showing it to you will do so that I have to finish it. I just need som backing up!

Well, Kristiane needs to go to the hospital today, so I better get shined up before I pick her up at the kindergarden.

Neckwarmer for little girls.

Well, little girls get cold necks. Luckily this was a fast knit. And Kristiane will have it on in kindergarden tomorrow. But I think it was a bit too big, I could wear it!

Facts:
Pattern: #1920 Hals from "Strikk til Nøstebarn"
Yarn: Askeladen 3tr merino, red.
Yarn amount: 43g
Time elapsed: A few hours.

Tomorrow I can continue with my Midsummer Shawl. Can't wait!

Green is my new obsession

For those of you who are wondering, the heading is inspired by Aerosmith's "Pink".

A friend of mine is having a baby, well not him ofcourse, but his girlfriend. When I found out, I really wanted to knit something for the baby. I love babies! So I landed on this baby blanket. They don't know the sex, so I think this olive-color is beautiful. It's 1x1 meter, so bigger than my one-year-old. Knitted diagonally.

Facts of today:
Pattern: Nøstebarnteppe from "strikk til nøstebarn"
Yarn: Askeladen 2tr merinowool in the color olive
Yarn amount: 200g
Time elapsed: Well, hmm, boring knitting so I used at least 3 months on it.

Still knitting for Oslo krisesenter, this time a scarf. I love this yarn for scarves! I have one in black/purple. I don't know the name of the yarn, but it's something -nille had a few years ago.
I used 164g and two nights.
And I have made two pearl necklaces, I love pearls too! But I can't afford buying the real thing, that's a job for the hunk in Oslo. It's not difficult, but the result is beautiful. My new favourite necklaces.

FINALLY!

Remember these?

Well, they are finished now. One left and one right mitten. I took me forever to make them, but I think it was worth it! But I will only make one more right mitten, because I have one left without a partner.

Facts:
Pattern: 7. Lady mitten, from Selbustrikk (modified pattern)
Yarn: Rauma Finull
Yarn amount: 83g
Time elapsed: WAY TO MUCH!

Tomorrow Bodø Glimt is playing against TIL.
They are the "enemies". I can't wait!

At Hobbyforum we're having a contest agains the Danish forum Rokken to knit most for a Crisis-senter (don't know what it's called in English). Anyway, we Norwegians are knitting for Oslo Krisesenter. Wanna join and beat the Danish? Press the link, and join the forum.

Feltet slippers for child
Pattern: Tøfler (rauma Strikk og Tov)
Yarn: Leftover yarn from Fritidsgarn, Vamsegarn and Trollgarn
Yarn amount: 179g
Time elapsed: 2 evenings

Yesterday after the Stitch and Bitch, I went to HanneJ and helped her organize her yarn. She had so MUCH! I really like organizing other people's stash! Anyway, she took some pictures, so she may be blogging about it today (or tomorrow). I dare her!
When I was finished, I got some yarn for the job! WEEEE!
One skein of Noro Aurora, she said she hated knitting with it, but I know exactly what I'll use it for.

And some undefined yarn from Nille, I like knitting scarf from it, and have a little more than half a skein of it myself.

Thank you, HanneJ. And because I like her mother so much, I dedicate this non-cursing post to her. Faen.

Diamo.... No, beads are a girls best friend!

When I was in Jessheim in August, I had to visit a little beautiful shop called "Perlesmia", it's like a little cottage between all the big shops and mall. I should have taken a picture of it, but I will. Someday. Anyway, I haven't been beading for almost two years, because I got so fed up with it. I have lots and lots of beads in a drawer at the "craftsroom" (although it's my daughters bedroom, I like calling it the other thing).
Well, that little visit resulted in these beautiful beads. I didn't really think about what I wanted to make, but I will make myself a pearled necklace.

Coming back to Bodø, I went to the local beadingshop, and bought me some more beads to make "charms" to hang on my silver necklace, so I made these 4. Actually, I got some refreshing on how to make them with the first red heart, but the other three I have made myself.

Mittenmania?

Well, now that Kristiane is in kindergarden, she has to have mittens. I got a beautiful hat-and-mitten-kit from HanneJ for her birthday. But since I don't know how to sew on stitches, you'll have to wait to see the frontside of the mittens.

Oh, not so boring facts:
Pattern: Navia "Hue Vanter" 2 designs
Size: 1-2 years
Yarn: Navia Duo
Yarn amount: 25g!!
Time elapsed: maybe 10 hours or so?

Well, I clearly have a thing for mittens nowadays, because I had to make another pair right after the babymittens were done. These were knitted in Manos Del Uruguay ( I love that yarn) and it only took me about 4 hours to make two! May I suggest that you watch your favourite TV-show on DVD while knitting these. In my case; Grey's anatomy.

Well, fun facts:
Pattern: 6-degree mittens
Size: One size (female)
Yarn: Manos Del Uruguay Jungle colour
Yarn amount: 65g
Time elapsed: 4 hours!

As some may know, I'm a little bit in love. Slightly, maybe. Tiiiiiiiiny tiiiiiiiiny little bit. haha

I have never gotten flowers from a man before (that wasn't my friend or father, have got some flowers from them) and I really love sunflowers! Well, I know that it's not real sunflowers, but they are beautiful!
With and without blitz on the camera.
Jealous?
As a little PS; I'm actually finishing the f(/&#&/%¤ Bodø Glimt mittens now, but I was short some yarn. So actually I had three pairs of mittens on my Knit-Picks-needles.

Of mice and men

The night of 28th august my second cousin decided to end his life, I dedicate this post to him.
Michael, rest in peace.

I talked to his mother on the memorial today and she told me to remember to always take care of your baby. Time goes away so quickly. And you hear it all of the time, but it's very true! So when Kristiane didn't want to sleep, I laid her on my chest, and she calmed down. I took a picture for the memory of it. That moment will never come back, and I need to cherish it.

But when they are sleeping, we can KNIT!

The "Lina" hat was startet when I went to Jessheim, because my middle-little-sister's name is Lina, and I wanted her to have it. I think it will suit her perfectly! I actually shortened it abit because I personally dislike hats that are too long, so I only have 3 repeats and not four. I used 66g of Viking Sportsyarn.

And ofcourse, Kristianes kindergardensuit (for when she's like 3 years. haha). I actually struggeled a bit with it, because I was short some yarn. I needed to e-mail the shop where I bought the yarn and ask if they could send me a little skein. And they did! But now I see that there's a slight difference in the dye,. Shit! Hopefully no one else will notice:)

The pattern (Nøstebarndress) is to be found in the book "strikk til nøstebarn" and I've used 242g of 2tråds merinoull from Askeladen. Syrin and Brown.

I used pink mousebuttons that I got from a HV in Hobbyboden, but now I can't remember who it was, sorry. I really liked them, they look pretty cute walking up the buttonposte(?).

And I was in Jessheim last week. Did some shopping on sale, found myself 3 skeins of Drops Alpacca, 4 skeins of Smart, and a booklet with Sirdar Bamboo-patterns! I also found some yarn for a friend of mine, we're doing a swap. I just love sales.

And I've got two shawl-packages from Projo, so I better get startet then!

Why I shouldn't quit my dayjob

Kristiane turns 1 on saturday the 16th. And as the perfect, housewife, singlemom-parent I am I had to test-bake one chocolate cake for her. Well, I used a recipe from the book "Bak med Spelt" and the frosting is from Toro.

I tried drawing Mickey Mouse, but I think it looks like what you would see Mickey as when you're high on LSD.

Well, it's so hilarious that I just had to blog it. Enjoy.

PS. The cake tastes good though!

Extreme Makeover (home edition)

I don't know if you have seen my livingroom? Well, this was it. Its horrible! I hated every inch of it, and I really didn't like being in my livingroom.

But in April, I finally got the energy I needed to start painting it. Unfortunately the baby had her little period of teething and not sleeping at all, so I couldn't get finished before yesterday.
And look at the transformation! I can't believe it!
Okay, so it's not very filled with things, but I'm gonna get some flowers and pictures and such when I can afford it. It's not my top priority!

Enjoy!
